Dan arrives...

When we arrived here this is the terminal we went through.
We actually waited here for at least 20 minutes, probably more, for the taxi driver to take us to the dock to catch the boat out here to Belizean Shores. After getting into the taxi we drove two blocks (would have taken 5 minutes to walk) and made out boat connection! So, when it was time to pick up Dan...we walked.
We went to the terminal that we arrived at and waited for a few minutes. There was a very small plane that landed and we asked if planes ever arrived early. The man said yes. Hum, that's nice. We said that he was coming in on Tropic Air and he let us know that we were at the wrong terminal, Tropic was at the end of the runway and across it. He told us to walk down the runway and then behind two planes and across the runway to get to their terminal...hum...walk down the runway, okay! Off we went.
Security is interesting here...we're walking down the runway but see the picture below...baggage claim...they mean it. When we arrived there was us and two other people on the plane. They took our bags off the plane and put them on the cart and would not let us touch them until they checked the baggage claim tickets - what!!! There were four people and four bags!!
Dan got this can of bug spray through Las Vegas and Houston airports and in Belize City they were going to make him check the bug spray into the baggage compartment (he didn't have a checked on bag)???!!!! After they found out where he was going they let him take it on...Back to the small plane that landed...
As we were walking across the runway the little tiny plane cruised around and parked by the Tropic terminal. We walked inside to wait for Dan but before we could sit down...there he was on the airstrip in front of that tiny plane!!! Can't believe he was on that one! I thought ours was small. He has a great picture on his camera, I'll have to get it from him. (sorry my writing is all over the place but...that's how my mind works just ask Molly!) Back to the small plane and the Off...he was going to have to check the bug spray in, right! It was a four seater plane and he was up front with the pilot...the bug spray would have been in the back seat!!! Gotta love security.

We caught the 5:30 taxi/boat back to the resort (after walking the two blocks from the airport) and he's settled in. It was dark last night when he arrived but here's a two thumbs up picture this morning from the hot tub! Life is good.
Actually Dan woke up earlier than us this morning and went out to the dock and saw a guy fishing (and catching) with a fishing line wound around a coke bottle and saw an eel out from the rocks swimming around, yup, Dan's settled in well.
It's great to have him here.
